FOOTPRINT CHALLENGES

Enabling community solutions to post-oil lifestyles

Ibstock Does Climate Change was started up to give support to residents and local businesses in, or around Ibstock, Leicestershire to take on the effects of climate change and the decreasing availability of fossil fuels.

The project will start with a public launch and a series of events to try and engage as many sectors of the community in ‘climate friendly’ behaviour.  The aim is to work closely with the District Council’s year long ‘Footprints Challenge’ and demonstrate Ibstock as an exemplar community in this campaign. The hope is to involve young people to develop the ‘young ibstock does climate change’ message and for them to take the lead and utilise the national ‘FootprintFriends’ website and hopefully go on to make a film or radio broadcast.
