Recipient of the United Nations Global 500 Award for outstanding practical achievements in the protection and improvement of the environment for his work as co-founder of the Earth Love Fund which supported and initiated over 200 community based projects in Brazil, Africa, Asia and Australia.
Co-Produced the Hollywood Genesis Award Winning Film "Spirit of the Forest" which was a BBC-TV documentary feature about the destruction of the Amazon Rainforest. Co- Produced the Album Project "Earthrise" which was no.1 in the UK and released worldwide featuring: U-2, Paul McCartney, Sting, Pink Floyd, Elton John, Paul Simon, REM, Peter Gabriel, Queen, Seal and many others for ELF's conservation projects for the world's Rainforests. Wrote and produced over 25 chart records, His songs including many top ten hits, "Under the Boardwalk", and the Grammy Award winning song, "Ai No Corrida", "Arizona", and songs recorded by artists including:
The Rolling Stones, Jay-Z,
L. The Beach Boys, The Jungle Bros., Jackson 5, Quincy Jones, Joni
Mitchel, Debbie Harry, The Shirelles, Ben E. King, Kenny Rogers,
the Drifters, Sam and Dave, Iggy Pop, Ricky Lee Jones, Gilberto
Gil, Kate Bush and others. Formed top 10 UK bands Fox and Yellow
Dog wrote and produced their 5 top ten hits.
Recorded 2 solo albums
for Warner Bros. Records-The first 'Clever dogs chase the sun',
the second 'Last stage for Silverworld'.
Was co-producer/writer of the band Gentlemen Without Weapons along with Jam's producer Vic Coppersmith and film composer Nick Glennie-Smith. They produced the album 'Transmissions' for A&M Records, the first all sampled album, using only the sounds of nature to create songs about the environment. Wrote the song "Spirit of the Forest" which was a Rainforest benefit record and documentary, released by Richard Branson's Virgin Records and featured over 50 major international artists including, Joni Mitchel, Iggy Pop, Lennie Kravitz, L.L. Cool J, Pink Floyd, Fleetwood Mac, Debbie Harry, Ramones, Ringo Starr, Gilberto Gil, Djavan, Rita Lee, Marisa Monte, Belinda Carlisle, the Jungle Bros., Afrika Bambaata and many others. Featured in a CNN documentary
about renewable energy showing him in his solar recording studio
in Taos, New Mexico, recording a track and cutting the master CD,
taking it to the solar radio station KTAOS and getting it played
on the air- the entire project done on solar energy.
Co- Produced ELF's album project "Earthrise ll" which featured top international names including, Elton John, U-2, The Cranberries, Shane Macgowan, REM, Tears for Fears, Genesis, Eurythmics, Stereo MC's, Meatloaf and more. Produced the dance album "Planet Electrica' in aid and relief of Hurricane Mitchel, the album
featured the top names in dance music, including, Chemical Bros.,
Massive Attack, Fat Boy Slim, Underworld, Roni Size and Reprazent,
U-2, LTJ Bukem, Les Rhythm Digitales, and many others.
