MUSIC RISING
An instrument replacement fund for musicians of the Gulf Coast of the USA.
Music Rising is a campaign committed to bringing music back to the Gulf Coast and New Orleans in particular. Launched in November 2005 by U2's The Edge, Gibson Guitar chairman and CEO Henry Juszkiewicz, and producer Bob Ezrin, the initiative has donated instruments to more than 2,000 musicians, schools and churches that lost theirs to Hurricane Katrina. The effort has helped people reclaim their livelihoods, and to re-establish the rich musical heritage of New Orleans.
