*Director of Earth Pledge and Nurture Nature Foundation whose focus is environmental solutions for cities.

*In 1991, Mr Oehl became the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Blue Planet Technologies, and environmentally oriented company dedicated to reduction of pollution and improvement of life quality through the innovative resources of catalytic chemistry. The company presently does business and has organised projects in Mexico, Russia, Poland and Romania among other countries. Blue Planet has organised a joint venture with the national Academy of Sciences in Moscow and is participating with Volkswagen de Mexico S.A. de C.V. in a joint research and development project.

* Sponsorship, along with the New England Aquarium and Earthpledge Foundation, of Coastal Rhythms, a multimedia project concerned with the preservation and support of worldwide coastal environmental equilibrium.

* Member of the Visiting Committee of the Marine Sciences Research Centre, State University of New York, Stony Brook, LI, NY, an organisation monitoring environmental quality control of New York metropolitan and Long Island waters.

* Member of the Shelter Island NY Conservation Advisory Council, appointed by the Shelter Island municipal government.

* Chairman of Corporate Enrolment for the Earth Summit Committee (which organised the International Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro in June 1992). The Earth Summit Committee to Promote the Pledge is a committee of the United Nations Conference on Environmental & Development (UNCED). For his activities at the Earth Summit Conference, Ron was awarded the UNCED Medal.

* Member of the Advisory Editorial Board of Earth Summit Times, an official publication of the United Nations Conference on Environment & Development.

* Director of Earth Society Foundation. Directed and sponsored Earth Day Ceremony 1990 at the United Nations, with Mayor David Dinkins. Earth Society was founded in 1969 by John McConnell and the late Margaret Mead.

* Appointment as a member of the Eminent Citizens Committee for Cairo '94, a committee of the United Nations International Conference on Population and Development for the International Conference on Population and Development held in Cairo, Egypt in 1994.

* Co-sponsor under the auspices of The Centre for Democracy, Washington, DC of a February 1993 program on "The Environmental Crisis in Central and Eastern Europe and the Former Soviet Union: Strategies and Solutions".

* Advisor to the Chief Executive of Fish Unlimited, a national environmental group dedicated to protecting and conserving the biodiversity of oceans and inland waters.

* Sponsored the 1989 and 1990 Martin Luther King, Jr. Interntional Peace Award Ceremonies. In 1989, the late Bruno Kreisky of Austria received the award at United Nations Headquaters in New York. In 1990, President Mikhail S. Gorbachev of the Soviet Union received the award in person at the Soviet embassy in Washington, DC.

* Sponsored a special presentation to Foreign Minister Ben Gurirab on Namibia's becoming the 160 th nation to join the United Nations.

* Sponsorship of writing and publication of author Hans Janitschek's biography of Nobel Peace Prize winner, President Oscar Arias of Costa Rica.

*Sponsorship of the Sleeping Elephant Project, a three-nation (Kenya, Namibia and Thailand) endeavour to create a life-size elephant sculpture in support of the cause of elephant preservation. The completed sculpture has been installed in the United Nations Sculpture Garden.

* Chairman of Corporate Enrollment for the Earth Summit Committee, to promote and the Pledge to help make the Earth safe and secure for future generations. For his activities at the Earth Summit Conference, Mr. Oehl was awarded the UNCED Medal.
