Revealing the true carbon footprint of high street shopping.

This project aims to reveal the true carbon costs of high street goods and services and build the value of low-carbon brands.  It will be a web-based community of ‘carbon shoppers’ who take the steps required to meet the challenges of climate change.

The project will identify robust methodologies to quantify carbon impacts of high street goods and services, create ‘branded research’ material and produce an information rich website. ‘Lunchtime activists’ will question their suppliers about what their companies are doing to prevent climate change. Reports on their findings will be sent to all the Chief Executives and their responses put up on the website. Once the project is up and running there will be a launch event featuring four podcasts and a national publicity campaign.
