MAKE A DONATION… MAKE A DIFFERENCE

Artists Project Earth’s online appeal in aid of those suffering from famine in East Africa.

Even though the mainstream media has stopped reporting the situation in The Horn of Africa, the sad fact remains that hundreds of thousands of people are still suffering from the ravages of drought and famine. It has been reported that food shortages affect almost the entire region of East Africa, particularly in southern Somalia and the refugee camps in Kenya and Ethiopia. Without doubt the spectre of climate change is exacerbating the situation, undermining the chances for long-term recovery and resilience. Climate change is a global phenomenon, but sadly it is those least responsible who are most at risk from the effects. (Click here to read Professor Herbert Girardet’s article on the root causes of famine.)

To date, thanks to the generosity of APE supporters, APE has given emergency funding to the following organisations who are working in the Horn of Africa: Mercy Corps; Merlin; Human Relief Foundation, Qaaf Aid and Action Against Hunger – but this is just a drop in the ocean. With your help we can help to raise much more…
