中外对话文化 CHINA DIALOGUE CULTURE

Supporting the ongoing work of ChinaDialogue to reach new audiences in China with the message of climate change and environmental justice.

中外对话文化chinadialogue culture will reach chinadialogue’s established members and readership via its weekly newsletter and other promotional material and activities, which include conferences, debates and one-to-one encounters in government, academia, business and beyond. We hold workshops and outreach events. Our staff frequently give seminars and public lectures and we keep up a busy schedule of conferences, networking and media appearances.

The website, chinadialogue.net is read in more than 180 countries, and territories around the world, with nearly half its readers in China. Surveys show that our readers include key government officials, policymakers, journalists, students and radical thinkers. Chinadialogue’s material also is widely reproduced by China’s largest newspapers and websites, expanding our reach through diverse distribution channels and enhancing our influence.

We reach hundreds of thousands of people through our website and social media, with our accounts on Twitter (blocked in China) and Weibo (the Chinese equivalent of Twitter) which together attract over 20,000 followers. Chinadialogue also publishes a bimonthly journal for Chinese policymakers and business leaders and awards an annual prize for the best Chinese environmental journalism.

Crucially, 中外对话文化chinadialogue culture will reach out to new networks and audiences – including those who wouldn’t usually look at a web site that is often focussed on policy, politics and economics but who are, nonetheless, passionate about the arts, culture, justice and human rights. It will do this through targeted mailings, radio and TV interviews, promotion via widely-read blogs, Weibo, Twitter and (funding permitting) a high profile event, as well as through the already existing networks of participating artists.
